Looks like he was bedded down and being a little older and wiser decided hunkering down and hiding would be safer than running...wrong!  Bet that was fun to clean!  What'd you do with him?

Are you sure he was alive when you hit him and not a recent roadkill well I guess he was kinda roadkill after the fact also

It was alive beacause dad hopped outa the combine and checked it and it was breathing.

Ok, I just have to ask-- Why did you call the DNR for an accidental hitting of a deer?
I'm not trying to cause trouble, just wondering.

Well we were going to see if we could take him to the locker and without a tag we just thought we would get DNR officer over to give us a card so we could take him to the locker but, when the DNR officer said it might have the disease we didn't end up taking him.

My son-in-law's family in South Dakota had one go through the chopper chopping earlage last week.  They were opening a new field so the truck was following the chopper instead of filling from the side.  Deer doesn't blow like corn-----------------------------------he dropped right out of the end of the spout onto the cab.  That was real pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Put a fawn thru a discbine before with roll conditioners. found it whining on the next round rear legless. felt bad but never seen it in the tall grass. I put it down
