I bought lot 53, full sister to lot 11.  She is bred to Jazz Man.  she is a maternal sister to Tank.

I am not sure what those lots brought but the averages were something like $3086 on fall pairs and $3400 on spring pairs....total sale grossed about $1.8 million.

We bought lots 98, 251, and 268. This sale still amazes me year after year how deep this set of cattle is. Was anyone at the sale in person?

spb, no, I was sitting out this year unless there were some steals too tempting to pass up.  I was really just there as a second set of eyes for my brother who bought two.

olsencattleo, I liked that 251 lot you bought quite a bit.  We stuck around an additional hour and a half for her but weren't anything near contending on her.

I know why they do it but dang it annoys me how they always make that last pen of females a strong one.

I missed it for the first time in ablong time.  At 530 Friday night I was going, by six my mother and father in law both had crises that neither thought could wait another day.

Yeah, they are pretty good at making that last pen to sale pretty strong. There were some dang good females in there. I also really liked lot 225 but i thought the 251 was a little more maternal.

chambero- I bet you just hated that. I believe i would still drive the 7 hours with no intention of buyiing anything just to walk through the cattle. Pretty amazing.

I was there for the first time.  Very impressive set of females.  Bought lot 38 and lot 100. Didn't write down what 507 brought.  The Made Right semen brought 160 to 175 per straw.  Some of the lower end breds were bringing 1500 to 1800 but the better cattle were bringing 2500 plus all day long.  Cattle condition varied from pen to  pen, some were almost show fat others just like they came off pasture.  Hot as Presido, Texas but still worth the trip.

I got to go for the first time this year. What a great set of cattle! I did drive 8 hours just to watch. Did't plan on buying a thing. Was worth every minute of the drive!
