It must be going to be a rough winter.  This fall is the worst for mice I have ever seen.  I am wondering if any of you have any "OUT OF THE BOX" tricks besides Decon and Bar Bait, for discouraging or repelling mice.

I have been using spray foam and steel wool to seal cracks and keep feed swept up, but I am having a hard time keeping cats around because of owl and coyotes.  Looking for some "better living through chemistry" ideas.  Thanks!

I thought they were voodoo when my wife brought them home, but the electronic mouse repellers that plug into the wall have worked well for us.  We got ours at home depot.

Back in the 80's I bought a "Ketch-All Multiple Catch Mousetrap" also known as a "Trap-Man mouse trap" in the UK, I bought it because we had a cat in the barn and I did not want them eating poisoned mice,  and the spring traps were not working fat enough (he preferred bigger pray, always in the grove catching rabbits, squirrels, and rats) It is made to catch up to 15 mice per setting, and it did, the first 2 days I caught over 25 mice, after that I caught fewer and fewer until it was one or 2 a week. I did a search and they still sell them, they do work.

You just need to remember to check them if there set or it can get real nasty. We just put the trap in a bucket of water and them dumped it.

If you have a safe place to put it; fill a bowl with Concentrated Antifreeze.  Animals like the taste of it and it is deadly!  Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Thanks to all for the great suggestions!  Here is a picture someone sent me for a redneck mouse trap.  We are going to build one this weekend.  You put peanut butter on the lower side of the bottle.  When the mouse tries to get to the pb, he slides off into the bucket of water.

Yep we have used something similar like that before.  Little buddies can swim for a bit and then its down like the titantic.
