This is my first time showing in about 6 years, and I am doing things on my own for the most part. I have a pretty hairy maintainer steer that I am currently showing in our jackpot shows. The judges say he is too round on his hip and needs to be more stout. Does anyone know ways to enhance this or make these areas somewhat better? He currently weighs 1050.

Roundness of hip and stoutness are in the genetics.. You can hide those flaws by a good clip job and leveling his pins. As far as stoutness it is almost all genetics and impossible to fix.
