Interested in finding a herd to rent for recipes, or maybe A.I.ing the cows to some older genetics for breeding stock and buying the calves back for a flat price. I'm located in Ohio, and am interested in knowing the best way to locate someone with the same interest as me. How much do you usually pay for renting a recipe cow? do you calve them out? or the owner? How much do you buy the calf back for if you go that route? Anyone that has a herd they are willing to put some eggs in or let me A.I and buy the calves back for a flat rate let me know I'm in Ohio so states that would work would be Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia.
PM me or text or call me 937 417 8228

Thanks  <cowboy>

We used a herd in Iowa where we are from. That is all that the guy does. You take him the embryos and he gets them in using the person of your choice. It was $60 per embryo to put them in then $150 per embryo settled. Then $1250 to pick up the calf at weaning. The guy calves them out and takes care of them. The things I didn't like was the calves are not creep fed at all so weaning seems to hit them pretty hard and I have had recips all over the board for milk. Some good and some bad. This year I am putting in embryos with a friend and he bought a herd of recips for himself.
