of course it should.  what progressives want to do is take away the right to vote with your feet.

everyone currently has the freedom to move to, or create a community that has values you value.

then you can experience diversity on your own terms, rather than the counterproductive anxiety producing always on method by both the left and right.

people underestimate the power they have over local elections, which usually has more impact on our daily lives.

I have tried to stay out of the political conversations but I have a story to share. The other day while at the grocery store two people of color were discussing the election results in front of me. They were joking about Obama putting 20 inch rims on the presidential limo, what they would spend their reparations on, and that white people would finally know what it is like to pick cotton. I found the last remark funny because I am sure they had never been to a farm or would even know what cotton looks like. The most disturbing thing was one of the gentlemen said he didn't know or care anything about Obama except he was black so that was who he was going to vote for. Should voting really be a right we all have. It is really scary that people like these gentlemen helped mold the future of our nation. Voting and having children are two of the most important things you can do but require no education or regulation to participate in.

We regulate who can and can't adopt children yet provide no mandatory birth control. I am with you on that. Having children should require a license.

knabe it was a rehitorical question. ;D My wife and mother-in-law voted for Obama because they thought Palin didn't portray herself as a inteligent women, even though they liked McCains policy better. It seems this election was more of a popularity contest then election. It reminded me more of voting for homecoming royality in highschool.

I think in this day and age about everyone picks cotton the same way, regardless of race or ethnic background. See pics below. There are some Amish folks in the neighborhood here who shock their grain crops though

in CA, we almost passed a regulation you had to have a license to have a cat or dog, and extra fees for breeders with mandatory spay neuter if you didn't have breeder status.

it would be far cheaper to allow trap/kill plus trap/spay-neuter/release, but of course we can't do that because we have to argue about which one of those is better.

i have two feral feeders near me with over 50 cats each.  it's a complete joke.  also have a former animal control officer with too many dogs on premises that bark bark bark and are in too small a cage with little activity.

i wonder how many births/abortions would be reduced if one simply had a requirement that to get government funds, you had to be temporarily sterilized.  of course the hitler analogy would emerge.

hmm, think of all the bailout recipients.  then we would need immigrants.  ugh.

the media didn't allow palin to be portrayed as intelligent, and palin/mccain (preferred order) blew it as well.

it should be pretty obvious the media is totally democratic with the most glaring example being chris matthews saying essentially the media should help obama, rather than perform their normal role.

it's amazing how little effort it takes to impose actionable bias.

Healthy discussion is fine, but please keep any racist jokes to yourself.  This a privately owned, but it is a public forum.

here's some more diversity for you.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/3496442/Forced-marriage-cases-up-by-80pc-this-year-as-investigators-find-parents-using-bounty-hunters.html

In total, 90 per cent of cases dealt with in Britain involve Bangladeshi or Pakistani families, but investigators are uncovering growing numbers of forced marriages involving Iranians, Turks, Kurds and Somalis.

hmmm, no native britains?  more diversity needed.

Mr Ives said it was unacceptable for people to tolerate forced marriage as just part of a different culture.

what a racist.  totally unacceptable.  we need more immigration.

Schools have refused to discuss so-called honour crimes in case they cause offence to ethnic minorities or religions, while MPs have been accused of failing to highlight forced marriage in case they lose Muslim votes.

ahh, isn't that nice.  more diversity for you.

personally, i've had enough diversity.  when is it time for the diversifying to be diversified?  never, western civilization must die first, along with help from PETA.
