Thanks for posting that. How does he compare in size with those old Polled Shorthorns from the turn of the century? His head looks pretty similar to theirs, as well as his capacity. To me, anyway. I wonder if the old Polled Shorthorns were more curly headed and they shaved them for the shows.

I am not sure how he would compare size wise to the Shorthorns of that era.He is a solid 5 frame score. He does in my opinion exhibit some of the classic Shorthorn breed character.

Would you put up a recent picture of Double Brute?
Each of us has an image of how we would like our cattle to look. But how many of us get there?

I just love this bulls phenotype (thumbsup) I can't really see anything I would want to change! If he was a frame 6 or 6.5 he would be about perfect for me. (clapping)

Thanks for your comments everyone.XBAR the calf I mentioned is the first of that mating and is only a week old.I  see nothing at this point that would deter me from doing more of those kind of matings.Librarian, here is a Double Brute picture for you.

I knew it. I thought those polled Shorthorns at the 1904 Worlds Fair were too short coupled (except the last one in line)....but now it's okay.
