I can only speak from my experience.I have around 12 cows from the cattle that were in S.D. branch which I believe were called Birkline that were dispersed.Even though they weren't cheap they have proven themselves in the pasture .The reputation on the Griswolds cattle helps sell their offspring.Cattle that have good phenotype that are  good producers work much better than high EPD cattle in our operation.I would say their cattle are more maternal bred than most which eliminates a lot of problems with soundness that has been a problem with some heavy muscled cattle.

Exactly, that is case in point. For example, the 2017 GCC sire catalog is titled, Where Maternal Matters.

Actually, they bought one of my straws....and it was more than that <beer>

Definitely a good purchase for them, and sale for me.
