I'm so sorry.  I feel for you too.    Our dogs are members of the family so it hurts to loose one.

I went into depression when had to put our first dog down. He was going through liver failure

I am totally dreading when sometime happens to your blue heeler Poolie. And don't even mention Woody passing away. I'll be a total basket case & you might as well haul me off to the hospital.

Beautiful poem dori. I'm sad for everyone's loss. Also your bull was a great one I'm sure JIT!

Sorry for your losses Just A Mom and JIT.   My old boxer Cedric passed away a couple of years ago.  He and I were buddies for 13 years as well and he was the "General" of our farm.   Nothing happened here that he didn't oversee and approve.  I asked the vet to put him down sometime I wasn't around and when the vet came to do it, Cedric, had already passed on.   Seemed like he knew it was his time.  I haven't been able to bond with another dog since.

My Calberta Paydirt cow, Hannah, probably should have been sold 3-4 years ago.   She has pretty bad arthritis and her feet need trimming two or three times per year but she keeps having a calf each year and I just don't have the heart to ship her.   Her arthritis has gotten much worse lately though, so this may have to be the year.  It'll be a damn long trip to the sale barn when that happens, though!!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, at least she is not in pain any more.  My theory is that all of our animals do go to heaven and are all playing together and having a great time, and the best thing is that you will see her again one day up there!  (angel)

Oh my gosh everyone all I can say is THANK YOU- Im crying like a baby typing this but my heart is heavy but full too, the outpouring of all your concern is so touching,
To everyone this is EXACTLY WHY we all love steer planet we all truely care for each other like human beings, very little judging, just sharing.  I know this has been harder on me
due to the fact my Dad passed away a couple of years ago and my nephew got cancer this year and now our Reba, sometimes it just seems to be too much.  I also feel for everyone
and their cattle love, I have said many times on here how I greive even when we have to sell our cattle or heaven forbid one dies.  It is true us country folk really do enjoy
life in all aspects probably because we are so close to all forms of life from being born to death on a daily basis, almost like a hospital worker.   Reba was suffering but that was still the
hardest thing we have ever done.  Again Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
