Not to be too critical, but he is not developing as well as I would have expected in the hindquarter.  If you take your hand and block off his hindquarter, he is amazing!  If you then do the opposite there seems to be something lacking!  Could be going through a gangly stage though, I hope so!
Like his length.

Not to make excuses for him but he just grew up a couple inches in frame in the last 2 weeks. It made him look really odd there for awhile while his body caught up. He has also not been pushed. He's been on feed now for about 30 days hard now. I guess personally I would like to him deeper in his flank but that may come with more time too. I want opinions. We don't have anything else here his age to compare him too.

Horses usually look kinda gangly at about a year too. The legs grow fast, they get hip high, and its not often their most photogenic stage. I think your guy is looking good for a young bull. You might find that adding beet pulp or full tank helps drop that rear flank. At his age, he is burning up all his intake putting on frame and by acting like a little bull, so to get that little extra fill, you will need to feed him extra forage. I think a little tail head hair to set will also make a difference on the appearance of his hip. Just curious, but what is his current weight and hip height?

He's 49 inches right now and I am unsure of the weight. He's never been weighed since he was weaned.
