If I body clipped a couple herefords now would they grow enough hair back to show at the end of August?  The hair is just plain nasty and having a full time day job doesn't allow me to work with it every day like I would like to.

i would knock the long hairs off and then as often as you can rinse, brush, and blow.  beat it straight with the blower.  it will get there. it just takes time

Don't body clip them now. You might get away with grill bricking some of it out, only if it is dead. Elbow grease will be about the only thing that can help you now. Growing up with Herefords and tons of amazing guys around me, I have worked my fair share of hair that I thought would beat me, but I won. Start out with a rice root brush, completely brush the hair down, then at a 45 degree angle down and forward, then straight forward. Work until dry. don't blow them every day. Rinse them more often than soap, leave some moisture in them. Infusium leave in treatment is a God sent product, get some, use it. Either put is in a dip with some vinegar or mix it with h20 and keep in a spray bottle. If some spots of hair dry before you can work them, spray with the Infusium to rewet. Rinse twice a day. On your second rinsing, just use cold water and run it over the body for 30- 45 minutes. Get them good and refreshed. Then start your elbow workout. Your arms will look amazing by August, too!

I would not body clip now. If you want excellent lond hair by your show in August, I would not body clip the calf... just keep trying to work with the hair as much as you can that you have now ... if the nasty hair that you are talking about is dead hair, then I would get one of those shedder combs and comb on them with that for like half and hour to an hour.

The only way the hair would grow back in time for a show in august would be to rinse your calf everyday anyways.  So your best bet is to leave the hair, shed your calf out everyday, rinse and brush.
