One of my favourite irish influenced bulls. He left some beautiful daughters with very good udders. A lot of the Saskvalley cattle are linebred to 42T, like the Saskvalley Ultra 12J bull.
He has some pretty good numbers as well.

If I were to use him again it would be on smaller framed, easy fleshing cows. He is probably the most influential bull we have ever used but that was 25 years ago and cattle were different then. It was the era of the frame race and at the time he would have been considered moderate framed and heavy muscled. Now he might be considered extreme. He did leave good uddered, productive females but the thing that impressed me the most was that his offspring seemed to breed as well or even better that he did.

Never know till you try carl :) Okotok would know and sounds like you had past success. Could be cool.
Carl would definitely be the expert on Mastercharge, a very important building block in the Saskvalley program.

I agree with what Carl has said about Mastercharge. I think he would work very well with smaller ( or what some people refer to as moderate framed ) females.  The job Mastercharge did in the Saskvalley herd is quite remarkable. I remember very well seeing the first set of about 25-30 Mastercharge  two year olds with calves on pasture at Saskvalley. They may have been as good a set of Shorthorn first calf heifers as I have ever seen. Saskvalley has continued to add his influence back into their herd, and I think some of their best cattle in recent years are steeped in the blood of Mastercharge.

Mastercharge himself has a unique blend of genetics from around the world. He was sired by Deerpark Improver 52nd, who may be one of the least known Irish imports, but also probably one of the best. When we imported IDS Duke of Dublin, Bill Huber asked if we would find him a bull in Ireland. Deerpark had a young red bull that many considered to be the best bull born in that year. We were able to get him bought for Huberdale and he came to Canada with Duke. He was sired by Deerpark Improver 19th and his dam was one of the very best cows in the Deerpark herd, Deerpark Scarlet 9th. Improver 57th was also a son of Improver 19th and his dam was a daughter of Scarlet 9th and was sired by old Improver himself. I think Huber's Improver 52nd was TH Free, as every descendant that was tested has been TH free. There never was any semen collected on Improver 52nd and after 2 years of use, he mysteriously quit producing semen. I debated buying him and giving his some rest and see if he would produce again. The Improver 52nd daughters at Huberdale were excellent females and IMO the best in their herd. They were very similar in type to the Mastercharge females at Saskvalley.
The dam of Mastercharge was a blend of Canadian and Australian bloodlines. She has  Mandalong Super Elephant in her pedigree as well as lots of  Four Point breeding.

Mastercharge has been blended into the Saskvalley herd not only from the sire side but also from the dam side of the pedigree, which has resulted in quite a number of cattle that have Mastercharge  numerous times in their extended pedigrees,. IMO, some of the best cattle Saskvalley has produced have been steeped in Mastercharge heritage. Our Saskvalley Pioneer 126P has 7 crosses of Mastercharge in his pedigree. I have a son of Mastercharge in my tank yet, named Saskvalley Lucky Eddy. I will be flushing to him this spring. His dam was a very good Kenmar cow. We lost Eddy when he was a yearling, but thankfully we had some semen drawn on him.
