Well, it looks like the hurricane brought more bad luck then weather where I live. Yesterday I checked my heatwave heifer that I have been anxiously been waiting for to calve. Her udder was big but didn't have that big popped look. So I figured that she didn't need to go into the barn for a couple more days. So I went to the lake for the night and came up this morning and checked the cows. She had her calf sometime early this morning, and it came out the sac on its head and she suffocated. It really sucks because there is so much talk about these heatwave heifers not having milk and i got lucky and had one with lots of milk. Just bad luck I guess.

That's too bad orwell. Earl didn't do much damage here either. Only trouble was the cover coming off the grain tank this afternoon. That was quite a job to tie back down in the wind. Luckily it had stopped raining.
