she is a 2012 march heifer. sired by i am legend. and out of an ali cow. her ma ain't much by any means, i paid 750 for her in 2007. calf will be going to her first show on the 6th, state fair.

her manchild maternal sister does have some purple behind her. and the calf is better than the manchild was as a calf. i can post pics of the manchild too if y'all want.

bet here's a couple of the i am legend.

we like Legend calves....we have several cows sired by him in production and they
have made good good momma cows; this heifer maybe the greatest winner for you
in the pasture as a momma.....
use I-80 on her the first year to be TH clean and pretty up her neck and head.....
you may have a home run!

she has been on full feed for about 2 weeks. and she is not totally weaned. her mom's udder can't handle more than 4 days of calf not nursing, so i keep her away for 4 nights now which will be perfect for state. i gotta have her totally weaned for county as that is like a full week.

the i am legend i've seen are pretty nice, steers and heifers. he is definitely one bull that hasn't gotten the full publicity he deserves.

yeah i was thinking i80 or possibly boomer on her. i will make that decision completely when the manchild calves in, she is bred to boomer with a heifer calf due in february.

and i think she will do quite well. the guy that had fit the manchild last fall at a couple of shows, when we were showing cow calf. said he could have gotten 5000 for her in illinois, quite easily. and the manchild wasn't nearly as deep. and smooth. people at badger kickoff thought i bought the manchild. they kept asking where i got her. i kept replyin my cow, haha. i love that feeling. then she went on to beat out some high dollar calves in her class. and like i said i am legend is better than manchild i think.

boomer is a full brother to sooner. he isn't a sooner. and being a full brother he doesnt have the same exact dna. also on her maternal side there is no milking problems. like i said. that cows udder can't handle over 4 days worth of milk in her yet, and i've been working on weaning for couple of weeks already. that cow milks a ton. she could easily feed twins.

well she's home from state fair. and she won her class and was division champion of the low % AOB. I had a lot of people like her a lot. she sure was fun to fit too.

being march 19 she will always be around that top half of division age wise, as her "class" is the big one the march and april heifers.

at county. she won her class, and was up there for the champions of the breedstock show. the spring yearling heifer won it, my manchild, and the the second in the manchild class took reserve. not to bad. we had 2 heifers marked with for sale signs, sold the uno mas. and everyone is like is she for sale. im like for a lot more money than the the other two.
