Wanted to post the picture of Tate and his Jake's Proud Jazz heifer, they were waiting in line to have her hooves trimmed.  She was Champion Maintainer at our spring show this past weekend, he was so excited, he got a purple ribbon and 10 dollars.

Way to go Tate... looks like you have a pretty good heifer on your hands. She looks like she will also go on to make a very good brood cow when all the fun of showing her is over. What is just as important is the purple ribbon and the $10... wow that is big time!

Hey Jill,
How did this heifer come- Birth Weight? Really like her. I have a red roan shaped like her but was only a 58#er out of a first calf heifer. Your gal looks like she has some body and thickness to her. The young man that is hold her is quiet handsome and looks pretty proud!

She was an ET calf and weighed 80, she's out of our Black Dice donor and we have been very pleased with how she turned out.

Her mother is a Black Dice/DJ Reflector #261415, her biggest winners she produced are the 2002 Champion and Champion Bred & Owned Steer at the National Jr. Maine Show, Belt Buckle and OKC Champion and the 2005 Reserve Champion and Champion Bred & Owned Steer at the National Jr. Maine Show and several division winning heifers,  so hopefully she will be as productive as her mother

From the ones we have had and the reports I have heard I would say yes, ours were all in the low 80's out of big cows and were all shaped right, all calved unassisted.

BTW, That's a really nice heifer ! I've seen a lot of black cattle bred to JPJ that have been pretty good.

First calf heifer 58#'s no assist. Doing great. Our first chance with him. We always used Gizmo for calving before.
