You could probably get ringworm by touching anything that has been in contact with ringworm.. if you are suseptable and there is enough on whatever you are touching.    Heard of a judge at a sheep show one time that ended up with ringworm on his hands...

Most of the blades that I use to cut human hair are used exclusively for that purpose. If I use a cattle blade, I always use Kool Lube which I believe has antiseptic properties. I've been cutting five heads of hair for a few years now and have not given anybody ringworm.

Last year I ran short of time to get a haircut before we were leaving for a show and I NEEDED one.  I sat down on a bucket in the clipping room and handed my 9 year old daughter the two speeds with a #3 pig clipping guard on and told her to have at it.  You should have seen her face, some were between excitement and total fear.  She got a feel for it pretty fast and used a #2 for the sides and even did a little free hand blending.  Thats were I made the mistake!  Oh well, it all grows back!

I cut my husbands hair all the time with them and have had to cut a few boys hair at our fair, started with my nephew and then had other takers.

I cut my boys' hair with clippers (and guards) all the time.  I think my ten year old might have been to the barber once or twice, my sixteen year old maybe three or four times.  They'd rather I did it, and if it saves 10 bucks a pop, I'm in.  I've offered to let the sixteen year old cut mine, but he won't try it - I've always worn mine a little longer anyway.  I use different clippers and blades on the kids than I do on the calves, 'cause I don't want to spread anything like ringworm (and because I don't clip cattle with guards).
