Please dont take this the wrong way but that catalog was pretty blah. Im sure those are good folks and all. its just the catalog and the selection seems down compared to years past. Not very many good pictures either. I remember more bulls for sale in the past. I read where bull sales were down by 138 bulls but the avg price was higher by 18% for 2010. Not sure how to interpret that. 138 less bulls being sold bothers me tho. Just my thoughts folks. Not trying to start anything. Cheers. <beer>

I was thinking just the opposite. I think there is some pretty good looking cattle consigned. I understand that you only get all giddy over sales like Sneed's , Lovings' , etc.ect. , to each his own. As far as pics go, there were less in the KY & TN sale than in the past. I think because we have had a worse winter as far as snow & cold goes & we are not set up down here like y'all are for pics in the bad weather. With the bull situation , I'm going to look at it as a positive & think that more people sold them privately off the farm. Which is great.

Im sorry I dont get all "giddy" over this catalog. Same ol same ol for the most part. Funny how two people look at it and see two different things. No hard feelings. I hope the cattle sell for a all time high.
I do get giddy with a sale like Sneed's or Loving's or Shoshone or A@T Cattle. I am really enjoying studying R.N. Reed's herd at the moment. That makes me giddy. Years of following your own path and breeding the animals that fit your tastes and enviroment. Thats cool for me. Just my opinion Doc. I can respect the fact Trump and his desecendants make you giddy. After all if we all bred the same thing, that would be boring.

Photos looked good to me. I have a reference photo for the Captain daughter selling. Her dam Gradens' Beauty  was Champion plus in MI Expo, carrying the full sister to the one selling. ( sorry should have lot #)

This Rowe Broadband daughter has a near perfect udder. We sold her as a bred, rebred her, halter broke the calf and delivered the pair to Country Lane that fall.  I believe this heifer calf is eligible for Mainetainer papers too??

good luck KY

I thought there was some nice looking breds & show females. I think there is a variety of bloodlines with some Canadian bred, some off our calving ease link on here & some plus' that will probably be pretty nice.

I have to agree with Doc, in that I looked through the catalog last night and I thought it was one of the best offering in this sale in many years. I also agree that there is a pretty good sampling of bloodlines and the top end of both sexes looked really good to me. Regarding the pictures, there are very few so called professional photos, but all in all I think most of them give a pretty good representation of the animals. Personally, The professional pics are pretty outstanding but I find I am a bit disappointed when I see the animals in person. I think getting great pics in the winter time takes a pile of work. All in all, I felt this was a pretty good set of working critters when I had looked through the catalog and I was wishing I lived closer.
