I just noticed on the Shorthorn Country sales page that this dispersion sale is scheduled for October..
I presume this is the Keith Lauer that I see mentioned in a lot of sale catalogs?

Does anyone know anything about this sale, or can fill me in on what their cattle are primarily known for? I can't seem to find a website or a Facebook page to do any research on them.

Commercial type cattle. Good operation. The Rosewood cow family is a good one out there. Can’t believe they are getting out. Maybe it’s just an older cow sale and not a total dispersion. Hate to see that herd go to the wind. I saw the sale on the schedule though as shortybreeder did.

I know he has a guy helping him with the work. Maybe this tough calving season was the tipping point. Keith is like a hundred years old. grin. He don't look like it though.

On page 70 of January Shorthorn Country Keith H. Lauer has 21 Performance Dams.  His cattle might be as functional as any.  Some well-known major breeders have purchased KL cows and they are in the pedigree of some high-dollar animals.

And there tax implications in selling the whole herd in one year. I know a guy who sold a herd of damn good Angus cattle because of a divorce.......he had to buy back a bunch of commercial cows in order to keep from getting crucified tax wise.
