no they don't get "promoted", you don't want to see the mature pic 99% of the time!  About 90% of the mature pics, are taken with a camera phone, when someone visits a bull @ stud, and those are really frowned upon in the 'real' world.

There is a mature pic every once in a while... Naugty Pine, Q dog, Eye Candy, etc..  but in their cases, the bull actually looks decent.. and they promote it in the catalog against the other bull's puff n fluff pictures.  (argue) (pop)

Lets be honest, it is never how they look at Denver or at stud, it is about what they throw.  Remember tiger woods?

Dr. Who took a killer mature picture too.  In my experience, bulls that have been prepared for pictures or shows change a lot after they're turned out.  They will all most likely look like crap for almost a year, especially if they're turned out with cows as a long yearling.  But after that, the good ones will come back looking better and better for the next few years.  Our bulls always hit their peak mature phenotype at about 4-6 years of age, barring any injuries or being turned out with too many cows.

I just remember numerous people on here saying they didn't like the way Tiger woods looked at Denver, but his calves have been pretty good so far.  It will be interesting to see how they end up doing as older prospects and through the state fairs season

There is new picture out of a bull called the Punisher that has been out a few years.  Good looking mature bull.

If a mature bull is getting used hard - either in the pasture or at stud, he'll never take a photo that will sell semen.  That's why you don't see many of them, not because most are "crap".  If an animal looks good at 9-12 months old as most Denver bulls do, very few fall apart after that.    If a calf is going to fall apart, its usually well before that.
