Do you feel that melatonin will effect breeding a heifer? We were using melatonin tablets and thought it may be effecting heat detection as the heifer that we just bred was very hard to detect in heat. When we first started tracking her heat cycles this January she was exactly 21 days and you knew when she was in heat and then in the last month I started giving melatonin tablets to prepare for show season. Just wondering what everyones thoughts were. I really hope we caught her at the right time as we bred with $100.00 Dream On semen. Could be worse but we usually use the $30-$40 semen. Breeder said she felt good though so hopefully that's a good sign.
