here is the bull calf out of Rose just born this afternoon

I've never had calves w/ so much vigor after being born! Of course both deliveries were quick so that helped.

Do need some help naming the bull calf!

red- nice calves! I'm glad he worked better for you this time. You'll have to keep us posted with how they're doing. I am no help on the name game, my first heifer was harley, her calf was harley JR and  her next calf was harley JR II. This year harley and JR are both calving so it should be interesting to see what their names come out like.

Eric!

Our one Money Man calf is a spitfire.  She is really a curious little one too, she comes right up to us when we walk the pen too.  She has plenty of bone & thickness..  I would like to have her a little cleaner fronted but her momma is a simmi.

Nice calves, Red!!  My next calf is due April 1 out of Money Man and our Vegas cow.  Now I really can't wait!!  One of our best heifers last year was out of Money Man but unfortunatley her mother savaged her and broke her hip---ended up puttingher down several weeks later.

Good luck with your Gidget and ???!!  How about Widget???

How about Moondoggie!  I think that was the guys name in the show.  Gadget is pretty good though.

In the TV series, Gidget's boyfriend was "MOONDOGGIE"

So, from all the people that have already used Money Man for a few years, I have a few questions.

How big are his calves?  And in other words, how well does he work on hiefers?

What are his calves like?  How good would you consider his calves compared to other Maine Anjou bulls, as well as other "easy calving" bulls?

What cows does he work best on?

Would you use him again?

I know he's a proven calving ease bull w/ a EPD of -4.5 Many have gotten small calves from him. Since this cow family typically has large calves I was pleased w/ what I had.
I'll definitely use him again. Gidget Funk ( Justme) had an awesome bull out him last year & a full brother to him this year too.

I have not had a bad calf out of Money man.  I have a full sib to our bull from the expo on the ground right now and think he maybe better than his big brother Mucho.

All our weights have been under 85 pounds no pulls all unassisted.  These were out of show heifers also that were fed hard.  Quick to get up and really quick to take off.  I have no hesitations reccomending him.  I tried Ali and never had any luck with him clicking with my genetics, they just never grew for me.  My Money Man calves really take off and are marketable.

We used Money Man last year and had no trouble with calving. Nice sized calves but came easy.  Un assisted is the name of the game.  These calves are built right.  Liked him enough that we used him again for this years spring calves.  Vigorous.

Love the heifers now as yearlings. And my kids are showing two Money Man steers out of that crop. One strictly a county fair kind of calf he is a little pinched behind the shoulders but the other would work at the state fair level.

Thanks for your replies!  I have been "burnt" by some of the "so called calving ease bulls" before and have gone back to using only low BW angus bulls the last few years.  I think I will give Money Man a shot on some hiefers this year based on your glowing reccommendations.  Thanks again.

I like my MM calves a lot - they come easy and are very very vigorous - they are stylish, correct, and have good bone and muscle, they are pretty fronted, and they grow. I will use him again this year. I have only used him on MA cows - the BW ranged from 78 to 104 pounds and pretty much followed the cow size - biggest out of Magic daughter and granddaughter (1900 lb cow, 104 lb calf) 1700 lb cow, 100 lb calf) - smallest out of a Pollstar 1300 lb cow

Since I started using high accuracy BW and CED RED Angus bulls on my heifers I don't think I will ever use anything else....JMO FWIW
