On the lookout for a show steer next year and have seen a bunch of nice Monopoly steers. Was curious if anybody has fed any out. Do they hold together nice or look good sale time and not so good later on?

The first calves should be hitting state fairs this summer. As long as the fat, chubby, thick and hairy look is good, they should do fine. From what I have seen they are real sound so they should stay good. Calves that are a little off in structure will be the ones that fall apart as mature cattle.

We are hooked on Monopoly. His calves look good when they are born, and just get better with time. We have two steers going to The Iowa State Fair feeder calf show on August 15th.
Right now we have most of our cows bred to Monopoly, or Tiger Woods (Monopoly son) for spring 2010.
We even had an XFL cow that hasn't produced anything better than a feedlot calf in the past, produce a steer that we will take to our local club calf sale in November.

My brother has a very stout wide monopoly that will be up in his club calf sale.  I will see if  can find a pic.

He is the real deal. We bred two of our best cows to him for next spring.Northern Improvement/'Maine/angus and a purebred red Shorthorn.

Thanks for all the input. I have seen quite a few good calves out of him and just wanted to be prepared for Labor Day weekend and going calf shopping! So excited already and the county fair just came to a close 2 weeks ago!!

We'll have quite a few Monopoly calves start hitting the ground in about 2 weeks.  I can't wait to see how they look.  We're going to have some ET calves out of Leroy Brown and Wave on Wave in the mix as well.  I don't think I've ever seen my dad as excited about a calf crop.  I hope you guys are right.
