She will be fine. You will have a lot more pride in showing what you raised. Besides it is your daughters first year ansD as long as she ( you all ) are having fun that is really all that matters.
She's pretty green. Toss some feed to her and see what happens. Honestly for my kids I was more worried about a really quiet critter for them to start out with then winning everything out of the gate.
