Has anybody used this bull? If so do you have any pictures? I was thinking about using him next year but was going to see if anybody had any calves.

I have two due in March, the 13th and 21st. I liked his cockiness and athleticism, that my older cow in particular needed. I'm anxious to see how they turn out.

It was my first time doing my own AI work and I got them stuck both the first time, so I'm happy with semen quality, so it's a start.

Have him bred to a 9 yr old Moody Blues X Maine daughter, and a 4 year daughter of her that is 1/2 Angus. I'll plan on sharing photos when I get them. I'm real curious what color I'll end up with out of the Blue Roan, but he seems to throw solid colored calves from the research I've done.

I also inquired with Apex cattle last year and this is what they had to say about him:

Good breeding bull.  Birth weights are OK, nothing large on our end and no calving problems.

Good haired, siring both red and blacks with most all of our calves solid colored.

Hope this helps.

We had one solid black bull calf born out of a 3/4 Galloway 1/4 Angus three year old.  92 lb birth weight, vigorous calf, stout, with good bone and hip.  I would use him again.

Below is a heifer we bought that is sired by No Surprise and was born last May. Pic was taken after spending three days in a trailer. I don't have a new pic of her but will tomorrow, if our county fair is canceled due to weather.

We had one and it was a little heifer, honestly I think it was the best on our farm. She was sold though but I love this bill

These were my two this fall. I kept the black and white heifer. The steer sold within days of being posted onto the classifieds here (he was only on feed about 7 days in the photo). Personalities were A+ on them. Sweetest calves I've ever raised from day one. The heifer is ham and very smart. Heifer is a PHAC (from her dam), THF.

I think this bull continues to be under used. I have attached a calf by No Surprise out of PB Hereford cow. Will be using more of him this year. Pic was taken the day she was born.

Since this popped up, here is the final photo of the black calf photographed above. He finished in mid-1200's and was Grand Champion steer at their small fair.  I sold him via Steer Planet classifieds as well.

For kicks, here is the heifer too...she's a mess in this photo! Muddy, shedding and been rubbing on everything she can find. She's got a month old heifer on her by Bismark...and she hasn't slimmed down any. Given her stature I'd be cautious using No Surprise on cows that don't have grow behind them. Her dam is a big, 1600+ pound cow.
