What's under the shag, is all that really matters.

I see you live towards the east side of the US, or atleast your time zone reflects such...

Unless you're in Ohio, or somewhere with a milder type summer-- I bet not many August calves have seen grass like that yet to this point of life...

Oklahoma, there wasn't any grass like that around here this year, this picture was taken 2 week ago when we turned him on wheat.

makes sense, you should change the time zone on your profile then...

I'm amazed the wheat looks that good, I'm guessing you've had plenty of rain since the drought then???

I have a hard time seeing him having enough grow to get where he needs to be in the end.  For me thats the 1300lb plus range.  May be the shag but I just don't see the frame needed to there.. G-Luck and I hope he is a high seller for you.
