Photo editing on a Mac

Have any of you used Aperture 3 to edit cattle photos on a Mac.  I like iPhoto and can do most everything I need, except remove halters and fence posts etc.  I need something with the clone brush.  I know Photo Shop is the gold standard here.  Just looking for something a little more reasonably priced.

Uh oh! Better to take somewhat more of your subject than pretty much nothing. Everybody has seen those photos where you inquire, "What befell the highest point of Professional Image Editing Services Aunt So in so's mind?" The best editing software on the planet can not recover what your viewfinder neglected to see.

For instance, assuming you go to where you intend to chase and stagger on wolf tracks and a new kill it could be a decent sign that your quarry has been run from the how to Hunting area and you want to adjust your arrangement.
