What is the best poison to get rid of these little suckers? We have them like crazy and shooting them just doesnt get the job done.
Thanks for the help.

A Remington 22-250!!! Have you checked into people wanting to hunt prairie dogs? In several of the varmint hunting magazines there are people looking for places to go hunt prairie dogs . You may even be able to charge people for hunting rights or get set up with an outfitter to host hunts on your land for a fee.

I have four groups of people that come and hunt them. They have been coming out for two years now and haven't put a dent in them! I am just ready to get rid of them. They are destroying way much land.

Bubble Gum! Go to Sam's Club and buy a bucket of Bubble Gum an unrap it and scatter it out, the prarie dogs eat it and can't digest it and they die.

Fumitoxin.  You do need a restricted use pesticide license to buy it, but it works.  Put a tablet down their hole, dump water down the hole and shovel the hole shut fast.  Do all visible holes leave it for a few days and go back and do it over until they are all gone.

I have heard of using bubble gum. Does it really work that well? Sounds like a good way to go.

I know people that have used it and it worked for them, they live in places that are not where you can't shoot them so their options are limited. I perfer to shoot them here at my place so I have not tested the bubble gum. But it's a cheap alternative and what you don't scatter out I am sure your kids will make good use of.

Do you unwrap the gum or throw it down with the wrapper?

Unwrap it, you wouldn't want one to choke on the wrapper!!  ;D

(lol)  We didn't have any luck with the bubblegum tricks, we bought metal traps that sit in the hole and trigger when it passed through.  Fairly gruesome, but near instant death.
