COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE WHO RAISE CATTLE OF ANY BREED ARE WELCOME-
These are some VERY GOOD HONEST CATTLE that check alot of boxes-Ive been watching the big time show pedigree cattle in sales after they are cows out working-TO EACH HIS OWN They seem like long skinny ant eater headed hard doing and very hard calving cattle with no rib shape-not much thickness- How did they end up looking sorta like Holstiens? Want cattle that are commercially oriented but could produce a nationally competitive calf if you want to show- Look at the Martindell cattle.WANT SOME VERY NICE AVAILABLE EXAMPLES FROM A GARY KAPER BULL? Ive said it before (for what its worth) This sale has some of the best REAL CATTLE (REAL BWS THAT MATCH PEDIGREES-NOT 4 GENERATIONS OF SOLUTION SALUTE BLOODSTONE MYRTAL UNLIMITED ETC stacked on top of each other and everything weighed 80 pounds at birth BUUUUUUULsh@$%&^*)T FOR YEARS-Martindell  supplied QUIETLY WITH NO FANFARE-NO BRAGADOSI DOH-some of the highest grading steers in the midwest to the SHO ME deal till he slowed down . There are alot of other ones along the same lines like Kourhaus,Az, Smithers L and L  the Respite deal-host of the sale- South Starr, Shar Ben, Ragsdale  etc. These cattle will give the Jungels, Byland, Paint Valley et-al a run in all respects of real everyday performance. From attractive well balanced good fronted cattle that arent bred for numbers to the exclusion of what a thick sound  shorthorn should look like .Other than some Waukaru and Lauer Cattle THE  fear of changes and percentages in numbers  is at the the POINT OF lining up UGLY OVER AND OVER -  NO CONTEST I HAVEN"T SEEN A SHOW HEIFER FROM THE " famous performance deals" in YEARS. Until you get to LOT 2 A: the JSF Mcoy grand daughter from Martindell. There are alot of  good looking good producing hard working ones like her in this sale. I see this offering in line along with the Canadian and some of the cool Montana cattle that come up.. Not eliminating the Ohio,Nebraska, Iowa-Ill. Minnesota, Oklahoma etc ones-Just wanted to mention some of  the ones in areas that may not have the numbers-or receive credit deserved Martindell-is Numero UNO in that dept in my book. O0

https://vimeo.com/showcase/9440727      Look at the videos and pedigrees ON THESE PERFORMANCE CATTLE  Best looking ones I know of  Most of them blow the short necked fat ugly fronted females Ive seen in the WEEDS-And they have ALOT of the good functional breeding Some of the first calves might look a little short necked-But I doubt any were assisted.  Canadian breeders and just about everyone need to see the lot one bull calf  Pretty cool-WAY STOUT
So wanna let the cattle speak for them selves? Some may even be  SUPERIOR GENETICS LOL O0

STRONG SALE-I guess a whole bunch of people woke up-Im not sure what Martindells average was but close to $5000-Which is impressive when you consider that these are working cattle- a majority of which could produce competitive show cattle in a blink O0

The cattle looked the part--it was a very solid sale.  It was a pleasure to attend and visit with consigners and other Shorthorn enthusiasts.  Wall to wall salt of the earth people and a lot of bang for the buck.  Also, it is not everywhere that one sees long john donuts with bacon on top!

Hey Dale-How did that stout bull calf look in person. Talk about an outcross. He looked to me that he will do a world of good and could be used on just about anything Especially clubby or the currant "show cattle " bloodlines.  O0

He's a real beef bull with outstanding conformation.  At the Homeplace he looks even better than on sale day!  Now and then, there is a bull that grows rapidly and then stops, before becoming larger than ideal at maturity--Martindell Tradition 1120 has that potential, and time will tell.  The Martin family is finally receiving some well-deserved recognition for their breeding program.
