If you are looking for maintainer calves I would use TLM Bouncer or Gigolo Joe.  If you want to go back to angus, Northern Improvement, Final Answer, and Bismark are safe.  I'm not sure there is such a thing as a sure fire heifer safe club calf bull.

A little bigger calves than I like on heifers - a few easy pulls.  But real good calves.  Depends on what risk you are comfortable with.

From what we have had, Gig. Joe will work on heifers. Dirty Hairy will work with slight assistance needed once in awhile. If you are into SM, ACC1 Hustler will work. We haven't had to pull any Hustlers out of clubbie bred 1st calf heifers.  J3 maybe could give you some insight as to whether or not you could try Catalyst on some of them. If he thinks that you could that would be an interesting mating. The females out of that mating should then work to use HW or HW derivative bulls on for clubbie steers & heifers.
