We had the neatest thing happen today.

My husband loves to cruise Craig's List and look at ALL the categories and threads.
He found a listing for a graduate student in the Omaha area wanting more information about farming.
So being who he is-- he answers the ad and strikes up a conversation with this lady.
Then she e-mails him all these questions about farming, crops and livestock.
We were going to go through her list and answer her back today, but then I come home from work and
she is here at the house!  Well come to find out that she called and asked if she could come out and visit and
see a real farm.
My husband gave her the tour and when I got home- I got in on helping her understand what we do on the farm.
She is planning on writing about her interview with us as part of her grad school and really is focusing her
writing on how real farms is not what some of the "anti- farm" groups are telling the public.
We discussed animal welfare, livestock production and about how PETA and HSUS is working "against" us.
It was a great opportunity to talk to a city person that really doesn't think we are bad people out here on the
farm after all.

We are going to continue communicating with this lady and she is going to keep us posted on her articles.

Just thought it would be fun to share our opportunity to help educate the public about modern farming.

<beer> (clapping) <rock> This is what we need in this country, especially since  our society is becoming more and more "citified". Most of the people who join PETA don't even realize what they are supporting. Sure they can talk trash about the american farmer, but as the old saying goes "if ur gonna talk bad about farmers, don't do it with your mouth full"
