Shorthorn Bull Test Results

I just wanted to post a link to the performance testing results of a group of Shorthorn Bulls who came off test this week. Pretty happy with the numbers!

Wow the marbling is through the roof! I cannot tell what the BF is on each of the bulls??

Look at the Scrotal size on each of the bulls!! 34 is exceptional for the breed and many are 36 +

Assuming the EOT is also the scan wt ??? I noticed the more moderate framed bulls were also the heavier (REA/cwt) muscled bulls?? ( tags 010,005).

The Backfat is measured in MM  if you wanted to convert it to inches divide by 25.4.  The first bull on the sheet has 14 mm fat,  14/25.4.  He had just over 1/2 inch of backfat (.55")  Most are in the .25" - .35" range for backfat.  It looks like all but one were 4% IMF (low Choice) or better, pretty decent numbers.

This test once again shows Shorthorns can do well and compare with other breeds.

JIT, did you see that bull?  he's a frame 7.6, has a big ribeye and fat, and was the highest adg.  seems impossible.  yours seemed to stack up nice.
