Shorthorn Question
« on: October 01, 2010, 06:02:51 PM »
What should I breed her to? She is an 06 model out of MF Pacer and a cow out of Phildon XS on the bottom side. This will be her 4th calf. I've attached some pictures of her and her calves. I would like to stick with a shorthorn bull and something that is easy calving. What do y'all think?
First calf is out of ALM Surf and other calf is by JPJ.

Thanks in advance,
Jordan

I'm just loving the fact that I picked that last calf as a JPJ before I even read your post!! ;D
Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

I know, right?? They all seem to have the same "look". Here is our other JPJ.

JPJ did an excellent job for you.  I would spice it up and try some of the Canadian bulls--
Muridales, Horseshoe Creek, Saskvalley, to mention a few-- there are other good farms too.
check out Canadian Shorthorn Genetics Mall on the web.

I would talk to JIT and see about WOLF WILLOW MAJOR LEROY he seems to be a hot bull up here in Canada.

Another option would be Northern Legend 3N.  We have had huge success with him from heifers, herd sires and even market steers (4H champion).
