This has been a really great discussion, and I see that chambero the man with the golden words has lived up to his reputation. Gotta say though chambero there is some tough competition on this topic for the "Golden Tongue" Award - AAOK is right up there and SH, brahmergirl, red all  did a nice job too! Since I am now listed as a "moderator" I put myself in charge of the awards! (clapping) (clapping) (clapping)

All kidding aside - great posts - somebody said once that if you do the right thing all the time it all works out - yeah I think it is true! DL

Isn't  it nice that were no nasty words said? Nobody called anyone a crusader or old hen? We had some really good points points given & some different opinions but I think several of us learned & all enjoyed!

Shows can be  a-moral in many ways. 25-year old fitters giving beer to teenage girls is far worse than lying about a calf's age, or genetics.Just my opinion.Take it for what it is.

I am amazed at what nutrition can do for a calf. The show feeds that are available.....air conditioned units for livestock. I wonder what it costs to feed a calf from 3 months old(actual age) to say the 2 year old bull in the promotion photo.
