Since the dam is unregistered, your calf would register as a 1/4 blood unless you go back and register the dam out of Arapahoe before you register this progeny sired by Gold Key. If you register the dam as a 1/2 blood, then your calf would also be registered as a 1/2 blood. One thing to keep in mind...depending on the genetic make up of the unregistered maternal grand dam and the genetic defect status of Who Made Who with ASA, your calf may get a TraitTrac status of yellow or pink unless you test for potential genetic defects. For instance, if that cow in the pedigree is a commercial Angus cow, she would carry a population risk for AM, NH and CA. The calf would have to be tested and cleared to get the Green status. Otherwise, she'll have a Yellow status showing her as population risk as well.

Hope that helps!

Thanks leanbeef and vcsf. And yes I know that Cut the BS....

then why did you ask?
I was saying that I know "Unregistered" means zero%

Ya, I know... and then I said, why would you ask then what percent your calf was--  you know the sire was 1/2.. and 1/2 of 1/2 is 1/4.. if unregistered equals zero %.
