Ya she was definitely unique , like I said my younger sister fell for her so dad kept her around ! That's the old dilution gene that the simmys used to carry  coming out strong in her.

Oh your right ive got a few more old Simmy pics saved for a cloudy day on here ! With simmentals weve been there done that , from the flowered Signal genetics to the coal black Dream Ons ! When i was very young we used to get alot of the grey baldy calves , breed the old yellow n white purebred cows to an Angus bull and thats what you were likely to get. Belive it or not they really didnt make bad calves , thats what still boggles me about this sim X angus deal being so hot right now , we did that 25 years ago !!! The only difference today is they have weeded out the greys and the dilution gene !!!

That is so cute! On the back of the New York Simmental directory (i believe)  there is a cow calf pair that has exclamation points or sometihng like that! I thought that was cute too, and it reminded me of this! I haven't seen a heart this good even on a dairy animal!

When I was a kid we herd of Simmentals, cows by Signal, Galant, Achilles and others,  we decided that the cows were too big and bought Angus bulls to cross them on.  We got some really good calves but they greys we got were almost all rat tails. Some of those sim-angus heifers that we kept back were the beginnings of our club calf herd.  That was long enough ago that we bred them to bulls like Sugar Ray and Ildeno.
