Here are a couple steers that were just weaned last week. The black and white steer is sired by Next Step (my herd bull) and the black steer is a Heat Wave x Who Made Who. Opinions please  :)

Nice calves Nikki. I like the front end of the first one. Nice calves for a "herd bull". Great prospects.

I like the first one better then the second one

The second one needs more depth and it is a little tight hearted

next step as in the heat wave x harrietta bull?

My bull Next Step is a Theobald 969 x Playboy that came from Horsley in Illinois.

Also, thanks Shawn! We are impressed with the calves out of the herd bull.

i think the heat wave probably has a little more future as a show steer than the baldy. i love the easy feeding/soft look of the baldy. the heat wave just needs some feed and time i think. i will assume that he is relatively thick by looking at the pedigree and appears to stand soundly with set to his hock and some nice slope to his shoulder.
