Saturday night was very eventful around here. Started of a 6:00 p.m. with the sirens blowing. I went back outside and looked. Several clouds to the west, SW, and NW rotating. One would try to lower, and then pick back up, then another, then another, and so on and so forth. After that little deal was over, it started raining. About 8:30 p.m. we lost power for about 45 min-an hour. We watched the weather at 10:00, and saw a tornado about 30 miles south of us with significant damage moving towards us. Wound up going about 7 miles east. Whe it had gone by, I saw on the radar that there was another storm heading for us that was about 1 1/2 hours away. (This was about 11:00 p.m.) The electricity went back off for just a few minutes, and I just decided to go on to bed. I was then woke up about 1:30 a.m. by the storm sirens blowing, and family/friends calling (all out of the area, but up watching.....btw if you called, thanks for the heads up) to say there was a tornado 5 miles south of town heading right for us. Got everyone up in a hurry and went to a friend's shelter all the wlile thinking that we're gonna be the next Greensburg!! Luckily it dove off to the east and weakened, only giving us golf ball-sized hail for about 5 minutes and strong winds and torrential rain. Everybody I know that was in the path is safe and sound (thank God), but 1 is still stuck marooned at home because of all the water. Coffee shop talk was around 9"-9 1/2" of rain in about a 8 hour period. Any body need to borrow some?
