I notice a lot of people on this website posting information, questions, pictures, etc regarding shorthorn cattle. A little over a week ago we bought my son and daughter another show heifer. This will be the first time we show a Pureblood Shorthorn (sired by Starburst) and a Shorthorn Plus/Influence heifer (sired by MAB and Double Stuff). We are planning to go to a show in three weeks and I can't wait to see how they do at their first show. I would appreciate your comments on our two Shorthorn show heifers.

Thank you for replying and positive comments. We brought them home last Tuesday and have given them a week off since they were worked so hard to get ready for the sale. I'm looking forward to my kids working on them tonight for the first time.

Thank you all for replying to my post. I had a couple folks who are known for their ability to identify structure/soundness problems look at them before the sale.

Well we took our two new heifers to the AGR in Stillwater this past weekend. Our pureblood shorthorn looked very green compared to the ones that beat her but the whole experience did the showman and heifer some good. The shorthorn plus showed very well for my daughter and the judge in ring one really liked her and she won her class. During the breed drive the judge decided he had to put his hands on her to make sure she was legit and not a hairball. After feeling her and a couple other older heifers he picked us for breed champion and commented that this heifer is for real. My daughter was super excited. During the grand drive the ring one judge surprised us all because he commented that he disagreed with the other judge on not selecting her for breed champion (got res champ in ring 2).  We didn't win anything else but all and all it was a good long day. I will try to get a pic uploaded soon.

I'm glad you got to spend some time in God's country!! I love Stillwater and am an old AGR from years ago.

Congrats on the heifers! Well done!

I added a picture from the show. Not the clearest but not a bad picture either.

The plus heifer was sired by MAB and her dam was sired by Doublestuff and born the 5th of April.

We haven't gave her a name yet so it would be cool to see some suggestions. I thought of Oreo because that is what I think of when I hear the word doublestuff. Having troubles using MAB in her name.
