I'm looking for any thoughts on the simmental bulls CCR Wide Range and Koch Big Timber, specifically if you have calves on the ground and your analysis of their progeny.  Thank you ahead of time!

I have not used Big Timber but Wide Range has been my go to bull the last couple of years and I thought my best over sire last year. Both sexes of calves are good solid type cattle. I was surprised this spring at some of the BWs but nothing was safe for me this year so I don't know exactly what to think about that. Calves are very well balanced, he makes every cow better IMO. He can throw some of the brownish tint color instead of coal black. I always have some WR in my tank for the cow that I don't know what to throw at her!!  ;) ;D

A close friend the other year bred all of his cows to Wide Range. They are 3 now and the heifers were good. Moderate, Broody with good power. They milked good as heifers and have nice udders now and are raising nice calves. He is using Big Timber a lot this year, so he’ll have quite a few coming. Our semen rep said they are nice calves and they come easy with a ton of vigor. I think he’s a great choice for heifers, especially the Uno Mas’s.
