Just wanted to let everyone know about the Wes Stover Memorial Fund online sale on Breeders World.  If you knew Wes, you know he never hesitated to help anyone, anytime.  This is a great opportunity for us to give something back in his honor.  Also an excellent opportunity to purchase semen and embryo's, much of which is really hard to find, and some other neat things too.  Be sure to check it out.

I know he passed away, but what happened?  Did he leave behind a young family, etc.  it's obvious a lot of people loved him.

Wes had a heart attack, due to a blood clot they said, at his home at 2:30 am a couple of weeks ago.  He had just (as in not more than a couple of hours) returned from a trip to Louisiana and Missippi, where I believe he'd judged a show, then went to visit an elderly aunt.  He and his wife Cheryl have a daughter Alicia, and a son Ry, both are in their twenties.  Wes was 51.

Wes went to high school and college in Texas, and taught there for a few years before coming to Oklahoma.  His brother Bart and his family live in north Texas and are involved in the livestock show program as well.

I didnt know he had passed-He was a really good guy,and they have some great cattle. The last time I spoke with him was Louisville-2008. Alicia Stovers impact Shaker hiefer that won Denver and a bunch of others in 1997  or 1998: REMAINS-the coolest-thickest female IVE EVER SEEN-of ANY BREED-At least to me-the ideal. That one came from 4-S Stephens Shorthorns,-ANOTHER huge loss to kids and cattle-JMO.-I remember when all those kids from Oklahoma would show up at the Jr Nationals and just kick ass with those Stephens hiefers and steers-and regardless of the so-called Mayan calender etc.and other comments I ignored:-those calves were really good, and were NOT PUDS. Thanks for posting, David. I had not heard about Wes.  He will be missed throughout Oklahoma; always willing to help, whatever the cause.

I will agree with you Mark, that heifer remains one of my all time favorites as well.  Also about Mike Stephens - he and Wes had a lot in common.  Good men gone way too soon...

If anyone has any questions about the semen tank, let me know.  The bulls listed barely scratched the surface - lots of different bulls from the past 20 years, especially clubbie's and Maine's, but a little bit of most everything.
