I have a steer that does not like a show stick.  He gets real jump when I work with him with the stick. He kicks his feet when you touch him with it.  Just wondering what I could do to help him.

Start by scratching his top with it, there are very few that can resist enjoying that.  Once he is having a good time with that, try scratching his brisket with it, and then his belly, and then try to move his feet. It might take a couple days to get him used to it, and you do have to take your time with it, but it works really well.

And Lord forbid! Do not at any cost hit him with it no mater how mad or impatient you are getting. It is better to just leave the barn for a minute or drink a can of pateince! <beer>

I had results with this. I took a plastic scrub brush and attached to the end of an old, shorter showstick. Scratched their whole body, from top to bottom, with it. Stand by their heads, hold the halter like you are showing, hang out up there for a long time. In my instances, they loved being scratched on the top with the scrub brush, then I moved to scratching the ribs and so forth, until I was onto their belly. Might work.
