Does anyone know if Wymore was collected for Canada? I have been told he wasn't by a Semex employee, but just wanted to make sure this is the case. By the way, the new herd sire we purchased from JoeNTenn, Hillside Improver, is out of an Elbee cow sired by Gizmo. Joe reports that so far the heaviest calf they have had from Leader was 78 lb at birth, all have been unassisted and all are dark colored and polled. He also says the calves are growing like bad weeds. I think we have a good calving ease sire on our hands that still offers some growth and eye appeal as well.

More circumference in the heart girth. Straighter and wider hooks to pins.

I would agree with ElBEE - more heart and his dam is a Darrell daughter. I liked all of the Darrell daughters when I visited.  No I have not used Wymore but it's like Buster and a couple other bulls that I like but have not used.  Happy New Year

Hey sue - I am so delighted with my Gizmos it is hard to believe they could be better  ;)

i was just talking about that bull over the weekend? I have to agree that he is more complete then dad too??? But his BW is 0.9 and CF Solution is a - 1.3 ..... so which one should I use cause I know Wymore's daddy is proven trait leader???? 8) :-\ I have to put my 2 cents in-Solution is closely related to Salute(one of the hughest BW epds in the breed-absolutely beutiful probgeny-but it is what it is, along with Bloodstone and alot of other close relatives. THERE IS NO WAY ON THIS EARTH-that that line of breeding(Ive got em too) are remotely as easy calving-on a wide range of unpredictable genetics-as the Gizmo-Improver34? cattle have been for the last 30 plus years. like mark has eluded to above... that BW epd on solution cracks me stuff up....  You have to remember that those EPDs are only as accurate as the pen and paper writing them down..

If I had the standard of subtracting 50 for every calf born at my place, I'd have quite a few 60 lb-ers too!  and my herd bull's BW EPD would be -2.1!!!  and he has none of the 'man' TRUMP in him!!

Ya I wish someone would explain how a bull is a -1.3 birth epd  when his dam is a 4.3 and his sire is 4.2.

Hey JIT,
I got the same story from Semex Canada - they say Wymore does not qualify for export to Canada  :( I'm assuming that is because they didn't collect him for export.  I'd definitely be interested in trying some if we could get it in...

Wymore was collected at KABSU and tested CCSS, which is USA standards. We are trying to get the feds to retest already collected semen for clearance to Canada (slight chance). Otherwise he will have to be quarantined for 90 days and recollected. How much semen do you think we can sell in Canada?

We remeasured Wymore. He grew 2 inches from 2 years to 6 years, he's now 59 inches.
