    AI Supplies

ABS also has a breeders kit with everything you need. All the semen distributors will carry supplies that they can drop off when they service your tank. http://store.sementanks.com/xcmilleniumtankpackagedeal.aspx The MVE - XC 20 tank is a great tank to start out with. The link above is...

    Calling all Simmental Folks

I'll second Houston, he will help help moderate, add muscle and middle. The only down side to using him would be you couldn't dual register him. One Eyed Jack will have lighter BW but tons of style and thickness. As a purebred, he would also give you the option to dual register, if you decide...

    Landscape Genetics

Here is a link that will take you to a page with a pdf file of what should be that full study, if you were still looking for it. http://link.springer.com/article/10.3103/S1068367412020103#page-1 That makes for an amazing yet horribly ironic story, starving to death while guarding the world's...

    Breeding Question

I'll second the Brilliance comments. Our calves came small and have a lot of grow to them. He also cleaned up a front a little bit, but in my experience he moderated his calves a little.

Scottish bull has testicles removed so he’s still making calves… 15 months after

I have a professor who pulled semen from a buck on a deer farm who had just died. He only took it from the epididymis, so there wasn't a lot of semen but they did get some pregnancies.

    Best Simmental Bulls right now

I would say that in terms of shear numbers Broker is leading the way right now. I would say I'm most excited about the One Eyed Jacks I have coming. I don't think that he will take the breed by storm, but I think that there will be a lot more Houston calves born in the next couple years with...

    Simmental Bulls to flush to?

We showed a halfblood heifers last fall that was out of a purebred angus cow by Lock N Load. I have heard of a few people having success using him on purebred simmy cows.

    Baby calves and BoSe

When we have  a calf that is weak or slow to get going we give them a shot of BoSe. However, we feed a selenium fortified mineral year round. This year I am considering trying MultiMin on all our calves at birth.

    Gaining Femininity

Sullivan's makes a product called Fresh & Feminine that is supposed to help clean up and give your animal a more feminine and fresh look, as the name implies. Some people swear by it, others say it doesn't make a significant difference. Depends on the heifer.

    What Simmental Bull to use?

Not to say that one calf should sway a guys opinion, but the OYJ x JF Reba heifer that Blue Chip Cattle Company sold in Louisville sold me. She was the high selling open at $25,500. It looks like they also have a full sib selling in the Illinois Beef Expo. Trennepohl's also had a bunch of...

    What Simmental Bull to use?

I would look at Uproar or One Eyed Jack. Uproar will do a little more moderating that One Eyed Jack will, but they are both baldies. I don't know for sure if you can get sexed semen on Uproar but you can get sexed One Eyed Jack semen off of frozengenetic.com.

    Calving ease Simmental bull

One Eyed Jack is pretty hot right now, especially after the success of his progeny at Trennepohl's sale and at Louisville.

    Bird Control?

What about an owl decoy? I've heard that most birds are afraid of them and won't go near them.

Andis ShowEdge clippers or Andis excel 5 speed

We won a set of the show edge clippers, tried them out once and didn't like them at all. To me they seemed big and bulky. I felt the angle made it more difficult than a two or 5 speed. I love my 5 speeds, especially how much lighter they are and how they fit in your hand.
