    Sugar Ray

    I just sent a Sugar Ray to town last winter and regret it, she was 8  years old and lost a calf from calving a few weeks early in a shit storm one night.  She was out of a Delighter cow from Bill Fraunholtz and was flat good, don't think that Sugar won't work today he was one of the great ones IMO.

    If you look at the bull as well as other bulls in certain breeds I feel they are going backwards. Some of these breeders are breeding for a show steer look and starting a fad, in my opinion. Look what Star Lake did, bred for show and if they could muster up some commercial guys along the way...

    Spring and Fall Tillage

    On the deep tillage rip it if you have to but only in the fall. The verticle machines are great and I love them but they are also always getting better machines made every year. With that being said Huiniker from Minnesota has the best machine out there IMO. Don't buy one rent it if you can...

    The best steer we ever had was a $1200 calf that did well all over and ended up 2nd in his class at Louisville that year. He beat several calves in that 20- 40000 range.
