In your opinion, which is the best Charolais cross bull to use for producing slick shear steers (all factors combined: muscle, soundness, eye appeal and disposition). Fixing to do some AI work and need some input. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the advice. We had one judge bury us for it. Most of the time it hasn't been an issue. Just wanted to make sure I didn't start heading off in the wrong direction and try to fix it.
Is there anything that can be done for a steer that is coon footed. I've never heard the term before but it refers to a steer with really weak pasterns. Any advice would help. Thanks
What base set of cows gives you the most predictability of having a sellable show calf when using clubby bulls? Angus, Sim/Angus, Balancer, others???? I would like to stay away from clubby cows and just use clubby bulls. Thanks in advance for your input.
Will melatonin implants have a noticeable calming effect on a steer's attitude? I know they are for hair growth but can they help with disposition? Thanks for your help.
Clean Machine was one of the best bulls in Denver. If you need a double clean bull he is the one to use in my humble opinion. One of my other favorites was All in One (although not double clean).
I have a black steer out of a Mercedes Benz cow that is pretty decent and priced right. He has good hair and is super gentle. Halter broke and ready to go. Born on 4/15/14. I am in south Texas.
