I was not there this year but watched it on-line as you did.  In years past every calf sold.  This is not a very big show.  I think by looking at the placings that there may have only been 4 head to a breed and they broke them into 2 classes.  When the sale sheet said 2nd place maine (or AOB...

I don't know of anything to fix it, but I have always been told that it is an undesirable trait.

OK I am confused.  The link to the steer class results doesn't have Haley Garten or Mobly as even showing steers.   ???  There is a Haley Lauer shown as the Charolais champion. I'm soooo confused!!!!!!

lot 91 was a 3C Macho simangus that brought $6000.  Lot 90 was a Dream On and rought $1500.  If I wrote everyting down right! A friend of mine also won some semen and some embryos.  Did not stay around to find out what they were.

I would guess that more hog farms sell directly to the packerthan cattle farms and can reap the benefits of selling on a carcass basis.  Around here there is basically no cattlemen that sell directly to the packer.  Most are sold at the local sale barn after weaning and that is the difference. ...
