Cell phone pic of yearling bull. Looking forward to seeing how this one continues to grow the next few months. Feel free to leave comments or thoughts on him.
Thanks. I found where some people said they use them on heifers but a lot of people don't recommend it. I was asking for a angus heifer I sold during the summer out of a first time heifer. She looks good just on the short side.
Are there any implants specifically for growth? I know there are several implants that can do various things for calves, but I am unaware of which ones work for certain issues. Also are these implants safe to use on breeding cattle or only steers?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I figured this would be a common question but could not find any threads on it.
-How do you decide which direction to take your breeding operation. For someone like myself I have a small herd of show cattle shown through out the years that I have kept to begin raising some calves. My main...
Has anyone tried this feed? How does it compare to Honor Show Chow or Lidners? Do you have to feed alot of it to get the desired weight gain and/or do you need to add a lot of additives for fat etcs?
Just wanted to show the change of this calf we picked up. We picked him up skinny out of the pasture (no creep feed or anything) and he is definitely coming on and putting weight on. Feel free to share any thoughts y'all may have on him, or his breeding. Texas Tornado x Ice Bucket x Maine :)
Thanks. I have had a lot of people question me as to why I did not castrate him and run him as a county bred steer. Reason why is because he was born out of the county and I truly think that there are going to be a lot of good steers at the steer show at Galveston county this year. My family has...
Thanks. We are actually located in Santa Fe, Texas (south of Houston). I would like to take him to some shows, but he is the first bull calf I have raised so not sure where I can really take him besides the majors to show. I do however have someone showing him in the breeding beef show at our...
I thought I would add the bull calf came out of a pasture in south Texas (Galveston County area) so my only point to this is the heat is not very forgiving down here and typically calves are rougher until we can get them in the show barn and under fans.
Thanks everyone once again. He did come out of a pasture that was poor doing. He was just on a cow with no creep feed. The cow he came off of appeared to be a higher than average milker how ever was in poor condition as well due to the pasture not being the best. The cows I plan on using him on...
