Just wondering on average what does it cost to feed a bull born in March...weaned in November and fed till April cost? With a good grower ration.

We gave the cows a shot of estroplan last Wednesday we had about 3/4 of them come into heat...how long do we have to wait to give the others that never another shot to bring them into heat?

We don't plan on using the cidr. We are only going to a.i about ten. So with the gnrh shot...should we give it when we a.i. or when we bring them in to give them the shot of estroplan(same as estramate)?

We are planning on AI'ing some cows and heifers this year...we plan on heat detecting using the patches.. we will give a shot of estroplan..should we still give a shot of fertaline when they are a.ied or shot before the estroplan. Or if anyone has any other programs that work. Thanks

We just bought a couple belted galloway heifers..this year they are bred to a gelveigh bull. Next year we were thinking going possibly clubbie with them. Has anyone else raised galloway? What are people breeding them to? Thanks

I have a heifer that was sired by sask valley yesterday. Her dam is a jakes proud jazz. She is a smaller framed shorthorn. Any one have breeding suggestions? Has to be seman available in Canada.  Thanks

Just wondering what everyone thinks of this heifer..good or bad...she is out of a maine/Angus cow..and a shorthorn bull. She was born beginning of April. 

Your exactly right idalee. We phoned the vet the first day we seen him..he told us not to bring him in it will stress him way more..he said all he would do in this case is give him mineral oil and bloat ease..and he said we can do that. So we did. Then yesterday we went in to the vet to talk to...

We were at the vet today and got some more bloat ease...they said try a magnet so we put that down him too. He hasn't been chewing his cud. I will try to get a picture tomorrow. 

This is the first time he has bloated. He is on straight native pasture no supplements at all.

We talked to a vet. So we gave him mineral oil and bloat ease yesterday...this morning he is still bloated. Making him walk around helps take the bloat down..and he passes liquidy manure as long as he is moving. What else or is there anything we can do for him? Thanks

How long before the mineral oil and bloat stuff work?

We have a bull that we seen yesterday evening that was bloated...he would not pass any gas or manure. Today he is passing manure but is still really bloated..he is on native pasture not alfalfa or access to any grain..what should we do with him?

Just wondering if many people use titanium 5 in preventing pneumonia in the pasture for calves. If so did you have good luck? Any downfalls to using it? Thanks

So if we put cidrs in on the evening ( between 4 and 6pm)  of the 12th (tuesday) we give a shot of cysteralin. Then do we pull them Thursday????
