    NAILE to NE

Just because I'm afraid it wont be seen immediately in the classifieds, I was wondering if anybody would have room on their trailer for a November heifer coming home from NAILE to or through NE or KS.  Any help or additional contacts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Sam

    NC pop addiction

Are you trying to quit caffeine or just Mountain Dew?... I, too was hopelessly addicted. Seriously, people laughed at me when I told them I was going to try & quit.  One day I just decided I was going to cut it out of my diet & see if I felt any better &/or lost any weight.. Instead of grabbing...

Grazing corn stalks with lots of corn....

Personally, I'd be more concerned with acidosis initially.. We added sodium bicarb to a ground hay mix & set it in feed bunks for them to help with acidosis last winter after softball size hail decided to stroll through our area & leave all our fields flat... Not sure how to limit intake to...

    Hay shortage solutions

Same concerns in Southwest Nebraska. We just got through swathing one pivot of sorghum-sudan & averaged around 900 ppm nitrates & a field of dryland s-s that averaged over 2200 ppm.. going to have to grind & mix accordingly... Guys around here also do the turnips under a pivot, but we've turned...

    ...........

Why do you even bother asking for an opinion if you're going to laugh at it & discount it with little to no consideration? You're making excuses such as a bad picture, I evaluated the female with the photos YOU uploaded, just like anybody else was able to do before giving a serious...

    ...........

I'm saying for more than just her first calf. If she's truly that great, she'll pass on the stoutness & look that seems to make her so great. However... I thought in order for cattle to be 'great', they had to be ultra complete, no holes & reproduce in a CONSISTENT manner.. I see a big hole...

Your thoughts on future matings with this donor?

After seeing the cow that Bodacious is out of.. I think both steers & heifers out of her, sired by him (Bodacious) could be some lookers.. -Sam

    ...........

If she's really that good, put an Angus bull with predictable genetics on her.. for more than just her first calf.. something to add a little more cushion off both ends, lengthen out that hip, keep some rib & add a shot of maternal to resulting heifers. Rodman has proven himself multiple times &...

    Planned C-sections

This thread worries me, not because of the bickering, but because how it would allow uninformed consumers to view what it is we do.  I am fully aware that C-Sections happen in every realm of raising cattle- be it commercial, seed stock &/or show cattle; things happen, genetics don't complement...
