Disposable Syringe or Repeat Syringe Gun

When setting a group of cattle up to breed, what type of syringe do you use to give your prostaglandin; disposable, or a repeater syringe gun?  I currently use disposable, simply because I fear of drug residual in the gun, if used for something else in the future, but I only have 3 head I'm...

    HARB PENDLETON 765 J H

Has anyone used HARB Pendleton, the Angus bull?  It says he is safe on heifers; but I was wondering what the real life experiences have been.  I have a yearling Mo Better heifer that I'd like to breed to a Genex bull for a Spring 2013 calf.  I'm open to suggestions, and I would love to see some...

    Rock In a hard Place

This shouldn't effect your insurance, they should be filing the claim on their insurance.  A couple years ago, the wind caught the door on a company pickup and it smacked the side of my car.  We just filed a claim with the company insurance and they sent me a check for the quoted price.

    simental bull

I bred two heavy simmental simmangus cows, one with a white underline, to Mo Better, trying to get some chrome and didn't get a lick of white. Nice calves but solid black.

    Sheep Lights! Must See! (N/C)

I agree, absolutely amazing!  Wish my dogs worked stock that well.

    True Grit

Did anyone notice that in the new movie Rooster Cogburn has his eye patch on the wrong eye!

    Ag Sales CDE

I agree with Ag Man, demonstration is key.  I competed in Ag Sales all four years of high school; my senior year our team won state and compete very strongly at the national level.  I've sold everything from Powell Scales to SureLatch Gate Latches.  The latches were fun because the company...

a steer makin. mama? Maybe?? Thoughts?

The double posting is irritating, but I think when you are posting if you see the error message, hit the back button rather than refresh and then select The Big Show again, and it will take you to the forum without the double post.  Also, I believe if you do have a double post you can use the...

Who WANTS to go to Denver?!

Yes, I am quite sad to say I've never been to a large show, but someday I will get there!  Hope everyone there has a fun and successful event!  <party>

    Business Plan

As some of you may know, I have been working on my MBA and I am now in the final project/thesis stage.  I have been approved to do a business plan for turning my commercial cattle operation in to a club calf operation, as final project.  I was just curious if anyone here at the Planet had a...

    Road Warrior and public posts

I don't post on SP very often, but I try to make it here at least once a day (or so) to keep caught up on all the happenings, and there are a few members that I always look for and make certain to read, RW is one of them.  I'm just not sure the broad can continue to handle loosing all these...

    Favorite Moment(s)

Well there are lots of great moments, I can always get back to my "center" by watching my cattle graze and just listening to the sprinklers.  No matter how stressful the day has been, there is just something about that combination that is so peacful.  And there is amost nothing better than...

    Ford V10

Don't do it! Okay it might work for you, but we tried it for about 8 months and just couldn't afford the fuel it was going through.  Hauling three pairs we got less than 8 MPG.  My husband ended up going with the 2010 6.4L and has been extermely happy with it thus far.

Very sad news.. re: Herefordfootball - Chris Cummings...

As many have mentioned, I did not actually know Chris but his blog and SP posts were always so positive and reflective of his love of cattle I couldn't pass any of them by. I hope his family can take comfort in knowing they raised a great young man that touched the lives of many and is now...

I just seen the list of Sullivan Supply Scholarship recipients (http://www.sullivansupply.com/winnersadd4.pdf) and first off I want to say congratulations to each of them!  <party>  Sounds like there are some pretty amazing projects/livelyhoods going on out there.  Do any of the winners hang out...

    Where do you live?

Eastern Oregon - if you don't like the weather just give it a few minutes and it'll change, always possible to experience all four seasons in the same day.

    F-350 6.4L Powerstroke - N/C

Thanks for all the replies.  He went ahead and got the 6.4L.  He has been waiting for the 2011 6.7 to come out and actually drove the first one that came to town, as soon as it came off the truck.  He really like it, but was worried about all the first year equipment on it - not to mention the...
